Soundgarden’s ...

Soundgarden’s first album in almost 16 years is available in stores in the USA today – King Animal Incredible. The only track I’ve heard is the aptly named ‘Been Away Too Long’, whose music video was released on Soundgarden’s YouTube  channel 4 days ago...

The Killers Release ...

One of the memories I’m keenest to revisit when I feel like snuggling up with a tub of Rum ‘n Raisin ice-cream and taking a trip down Nostalgia Lane, is the one where I lose my voice while singing along with The Killers, to their rock-opera anthem Human, with my two mates Chris and...

Zim Zala Bim –...

Jussie ouens, Since Desmond released their teaser video for NMusic, I’ve been convinced that Illovo, Jozi must have recently been introduced to some new high-grade psychedelics. Well, this is their new music for ‘Zim Zala Bim’.. It seems that ‘The Mysterious’ is...

Woolworths Meet Van ...

I don’t know if some new agency has taken over the Woolworths RE: account or something but I never saw this coming. An unlikely partnership, indeed but who cares! Well done Woolworths, relevancy points earned! Not enough to make me buy a pair of chinos but still, well done! Check out...

Goodluck Release ...

Try as we might, we tried to show you this video as soon as it was scheduled for release last night, but it seemed the Goodluck team were facing an army of internet gremlins and I eventually had to move on to other activities. Nevertheless, the gremlins were overpowered and their brand new...

We Were Here, Cell C, BASA present: The Deep End

There is something magical about this city and Luke Pallet and Dave Fisher captured the feeling of being at the Gangs of Ballet EP launch perfectly. One of my favourite videos this year, so far. Watching the first few seconds of the video took me right back to that night. Waiting for people to come, sure that the rain would put them off. Positively certain that Durbanites would live up to their reputation of being fickle and unable to handle any of the elements, except pure sunshine, without whining like a group of school-girls having to crawl through mud on a Spirit of Adventure camp (those chicks used to rash the hemorrhoids right off...

Civili Twilight Zaff...

Check it, these good old Hout Bay boys have made us proud… Anyone who was the Bat Centre gig… ja, that band just played the Jimmy Kimmel show. I wonder, seeing since we’re talking all things SAMA lately, they’d still qualify as nominees right? Or, would Randall think...

Desmond and the Tutu...

Durban’s favourite foreigners, Desmond and the Tutus, have released the audio for the first single off their new upcoming album, Mnusic, on YouTube. I say audio, because while their is a video, it’s not the actual music video… and the video that there is follows in the...

The Plastics Release Music Video for ‘Stereo...

Cape Town band, The Plastics, have just released the new music video for their not-so-new single… Stereo Kids. The track has been sitting pretty on radio charts for a while now and doesn’t look like it is going anywhere soon. The song seems to be driven lyrically by a sense of nostalgia and we have to say that director Robert Smith has done an epic job at translating it visually. The Plastics are a hard-working bunch and one of the few bands I know that make their way to Durban gigs with smiles on their faces. Headlining Red Eye! 2010 was a highlight of the whole event and their following gig at Unit 11 showed even more growth....

‘Hot Problems'...

Every bit of me wanted to categorize this as ‘Humour’… alas, it’s a real attempt. Weary of Rebecca Black-esque whiplash, even the publishers of the song announce as a disclaimer: “Old Bailey Productions did not create any of the audio or lyrics for this video. We...
