The Anti Retro Vinyls Sign Label Deal!
We’ve been listening to and tweeting about and commenting on and status updating and propaganda dropping The Anti Retro Vinyls every chance we get lately… So imagine our stoke when we found out that they spent last week finalising and signing a label deal with Just Music SA.
It turns out when advised to sign an organic veggie box full of sweet potato and cabbage from the local herbalist, Just Music made the much more logical and life-giving choice of signing Anti Retro Vinyls instead. Who wouldn’t?!
If you haven’t heard of them, imagine a band that’s put their own twist on The Cribs and The Wombats type of style, with an evolved and modern-day Ramones aesthetic. The artists previously known as The Otherwise having been brewing a river of hype through many media outlets lately, and with good reason. Personally, songs like ‘Can I Kiss You’ and ‘Would You Like To Pretend’ have not had a break from the pressures of heavy rotation in my iTunes Library.
They celebrate their signing tonight at Live, with two other great East Coast collectives, Car Boot Vendors and Fruit & Veggies. Follow the link to the Facebook event page for more info on tonights gig… here.
And Durban, a band shouldn’t have to pay for drinks at their first gig after signing. Leather-jacket upkeep is more expensive than you think, so buy them their thirst quenchers tonight.
Check out the official video for ‘Can I Kiss You’ and then make your way HERE, where you can listen and even download some of their tracks for free.
See you tonight,
